Monica Sekowski
Principal Clinical Psychologist
Monica is a psychologist holding both a Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology and a Master of Clinical Psychology, with areas of speciality in both child and adolescent and adult mental health. She has an area of interest in feeding and eating disorders in children and adolescents and a passion for working with children and families presenting with developmental, behavioural, social, and emotional difficulties.

Monica also specialises in mental health across the lifespan and has an area of interest in young adult and adult adjustment disorders such as life transition, workplace stress and marital separation. She also provides couples therapy, and treatment of depression, anxiety, and other more complex mental health presentations.

Monica has over 12 years’ experience working in inpatient and outpatient mental health services across Sydney, including a specialist role on the sexual assault team at RPA and Senior Psychologist at the child and adolescent mental health service in Campbelltown Hospital.

Monica currently consults across five paediatric and adult practices in Sydney (Including her own practice): Developmental Paediatrics, Kids Feeding Specialists, Feeding Happy Kids and The Longevity Medicine Institute. She also consults for the Australian Institute of Sports (AIS) as part of their Mental Health Referral Network and for the Australian Football League (AFL), where she works closely with high-performance athletes and Olympians to enhance their mental health and performance.

Monica holds an area of specialty in eating and body image disorders. She is a proud member of the Eating Disorders and Body Image research network at WSU and was awarded the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research, Enterprise, and International Award, for excellence in interdisciplinary research in 2020.

Emma Brown-Beresford
Registered Psychologist
Emma (she/her) is a registered psychologist who enjoys working with clients in a warm and personable manner to provide evidence-based support for a variety of life circumstances and mental health concerns. In addition to providing diagnostic assessment and intervention for presentations including anxiety, mood, behavioural and adjustment issues, Emma is interested in how different life factors such as identity, work, family and relationships play a role in mental health and coping. She welcomes clients of all ages, sexualities and gender identities seeking individual or parenting support.

Emma has experience in clinical, community and school settings, and has worked with a range of groups from young children, adolescents and adults, to parents and teaching staff. Having worked substantially in dyadic psychotherapy, Emma has a strong appreciation for how attachment, family and relational dynamics can influence emotions, behaviour and identity development. Emma utilises evidence-based modalities including Psychodynamic approaches, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapies (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to tailor her approach to suit individuals’ unique circumstances and therapeutic goals. She is also trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) in adults and children to address paediatric and adult sleep disorders, in addition to various parenting interventions to help understand and support children's emotions and behaviours (including Circle of Security, Tuning In To Kids, Confident Carers Cooperative Kids).

Emma is a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists (AAPi), and her qualifications include a Master of Professional Psychology, Bachelor of Social Sciences (Psychology) (Honours), and Bachelor of Science (Psychology). She has also published research investigating protective factors for sexual minority women's mental health.

Emma Walters
Registered Psychologist
Emma Walters is an experienced psychologist passionate about encouraging emotional well-being and resilience in adults, children, and adolescents. She specialises in the assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, life stress/adjustment disorders, and relationships. Emma provides a supportive and empathetic approach to therapy that empowers her clients to navigate life's challenges with confidence.

With a solid foundation in evidence-based practices, Emma uses a combination of therapeutic modalities, focusing on behaviour modification and skill-building, to help her clients gain insight and develop essential coping strategies and emotional management techniques. Her expertise extends to addressing complex relational dynamics, providing invaluable support for families and couples seeking to enhance communication and strengthen connections.

Emma specialises in cognitive behaviour therapy (with exposure) and acceptance and commitment therapy for children and adults. She also holds an area of specialty in couples therapy and relationship work. Emma is an accredited Gottman therapist with extensive conflict resolution experience and experience navigating complex relationship dynamics in couples and families.
Amaani Hatoum
Clinical Psychology Registrar/Registered Psychologist
Amaani is a Psychologist with a Master of Clinical Psychology and is nearing completion of a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Sydney.
She has a special interest in the assessment and treatment of feeding and eating disorders, as well as other areas of adult mental health, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, procrastination, emotional regulation difficulties, interpersonal difficulties, and life-transitions/adjustment.
Her dominant therapeutic approach is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and incorporates elements of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Amaani is also a researcher at the Black Dog Institute, a visiting scholar at the University of Technology Sydney and a part of their Body Image and Eating Disorders Academic Network, an Associate Editor of Clinical Psychologist, and a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association and the Australian Psychological Society. She has published several articles in clinically relevant peer-reviewed journals and presented her research both nationally and internationally.
